Mouse Damage

Some of the signs of mice in your home include dark droppings measuring about a quarter of an inch; footprints and tail marks on dusty surfaces; wet and dry urine stains; visible gnawing on doors, ledges, and walls; and the sounds of rustling and squeaks in walls.

Mice can damage the home through their chewing, tunneling in insulation, and by spoiling food. It is estimated that a mouse contaminates 10x the food that they actually consume. Mice also have a characteristic musky odor that can be characterized as a nuisance.

Signs of mouse activity are:

Droppings - Especially near shelter, feeding areas and runways.

Tracks - Foot and tail marks in dusty areas.

Runways - Tunneling in attic insulation (looks like Swiss Cheese)

Sounds - Gnawing, light running, and squeaking in ceilings.

Rub marks - Along walls, entrances and frequently used areas.

Gnawing - Chew marks on structures or food items.

Nests - Consisting of fine shredded materials.
