Introduction to Mice House mouse - Mus musculus. Mouse in the house? You might want to reconsider. That’s because it’s a fairly safe bet that if there’s one tiny four-legged, whiskered little rodent spotted sharing your Michigan home, there could be many generations more comfortably nestled in your attic insulation, between the walls in your kitchen, in the garage, and hidden in the basement or elsewhere. Weighing less an ounce, the mouse is a mostly nocturnal rodent easily recognized for a slightly pointed nose; small, black and slightly bulging eyes; and a hairless tail. And they can multiply quickly, with females giving birth to potentially 10 litters of five mice each per year. Seeds and grain are a dietary staple for the mouse living in the woods, but chocolate, bacon, butter and nuts — the food we humans love — are just as appealing for your resident mice. We currently solve mouse problems in SE Michigan. |
